Refund Policy
Firms pay for CaseAgent ahead of each billing period, and those payments are final. This page sets out the three cases in which we return a charge and how the firm owner stops a renewal.
Effective October 14, 2026
01
Payments are final
A CaseAgent plan is a subscription for the firm, paid monthly or yearly in advance. The fee buys the workspace, the case agent and the seats on your plan for that billing period, within the limits on the pricing page. The workspace opens in full as soon as the period is paid, so the charge stands whether your team opened a hundred matters that month or none.
By subscribing, the firm asks us to start the service at once and accepts that any statutory right of withdrawal or cooling-off period ends when the service begins.
02
When we do return a charge
Only three situations qualify, each one has to be supported by the records described in section 05, and the amount returned never exceeds what the firm paid for the period concerned.
You were billed twice. A fault in our billing took two payments for the same period.
A charge you never authorised. Someone used the firm's card without permission, you report it within 14 days of the charge, and our records and those of our payment operator confirm it. Saying so is not enough on its own, and we may ask you to confirm the misuse was reported to the card issuer.
The workspace was down completely. A confirmed fault on our side made CaseAgent entirely unusable for a continuous period, you told us while it was happening, and we could not restore it. Slow drafting, a single feature misbehaving, credits under our SLA, and trouble with your own devices, browser or network do not count.
Any approved return goes back to the card that paid, settles our whole liability for that charge, and does not open the door to a further one.
03
What does not qualify
- The firm changed direction, lost a client, or no longer needs case management software.
- Nobody used the workspace, or the agent, during a paid period.
- Removing users, lowering headcount or downgrading partway through a period. Seats you no longer need are not refunded for the time already paid.
- A renewal nobody remembered to switch off, or one switched off right after it was charged.
- Expecting a one-time payment. Every plan is recurring, as the pricing page, checkout, confirmation email and plan page say.
- Disagreeing with a draft, summary, deadline suggestion or citation produced by the AI. Output is a first draft for attorney review, and the demo shows it before you buy.
- A feature that is not on the pricing page, or one that behaves differently from how you pictured it.
- Picking the wrong plan, billing period or number of seats.
- Access by someone you shared credentials with.
04
Cancelling and renewal
Plans renew automatically until switched off. The firm owner can stop renewal at any time from the plan page in the workspace, without contacting us. No further charge follows, and the workspace stays open until the paid period ends. There is no pro-rated credit for the days left.
Stopping renewal acts on the future only. A renewal that has already been charged stays charged, and the firm keeps access for that period. If a renewal payment is declined, the amount is still owed for a period that has started, so the card is tried again over the following days. Those attempts collect one open invoice and are not new charges, and a renewal collected that way is not refundable. To avoid the next renewal, switch it off before the date on the plan page.
05
What we keep on record
Creating an account means accepting our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and this policy forms part of those terms. The checkout shows the plan, price, billing period and automatic renewal before anything is charged, and the confirmation email and plan page repeat them.
For each subscription we keep the purchase time, the plan and price shown, the acceptance of the terms, the emails sent about the plan, and the workspace activity log: sign-ins, users invited, matters and documents created, agent runs, with the technical details recorded next to each. Our payment operator holds its own record of each charge, including the card's country of issue, where the payment came from and the result of bank authentication such as 3D Secure. Claims of an unauthorised charge are assessed against these records.
06
How to ask for a review
Write to [email protected] from the email on the account within 14 days of the charge. Give the date, the amount and the exception from section 02 you rely on. Late requests, or requests sent some other way, are not reviewed, and declined requests are not reopened.
07
Chargebacks
Please contact us before going to your bank. Filing a chargeback without first writing to us breaches our Terms of Service and closes the firm's account permanently. If a dispute is opened, we provide the card issuer with the records listed in section 05.
