LawAlign is personal injury case management built on FileMaker, sold by a New York company that has been in the business since 1995. You buy concurrent licenses once, the price depends on how much customization your office needs, and setup plus one full training day are included. The FAQ says there are no recurring fees and offers an optional support agreement for an annual fee it does not state.
The part the FAQ understates is FileMaker. It quotes $324 per license and $1,044 for the server, which are older prices. Claris now lists FileMaker Server for teams at $17.50 per user a month for 5 to 9 users, billed a year in advance, and a single FileMaker Pro 2026 license at $625. Over five years that platform line is often the second largest cost after the license itself.

What LawAlign itself says about price
LawAlign has no pricing page; lawalign.com/pricing returns a 404. Its cost calculator page has tabs for Cloud for Teams, On Premise for Teams and Single Licences for Individuals, and every tab asks you to choose a pricing option without showing a figure. What it does publish is spread over four pages.

There is no separate terms of service page. Beyond the refund policy, nothing on the site covers support renewal, notice periods, data export or price changes, so those belong in the purchase agreement you ask LawAlign to send.

A multi user LawAlign install runs as a client and server app on FileMaker Server, with PCs, Macs, iPads and iPhones connecting to it. The LawAlign FAQ says FileMaker can be bought through LawAlign or from FileMaker, Inc. at $324 per license and $1,044 for the server.
FileMaker, Inc. is now Claris, and its store no longer sells that way. A firm that shares LawAlign across a team buys FileMaker Server licensing per user on an annual plan, paid for the full 12, 24 or 36 month term in advance, or a perpetual license from the same page. That turns a one time purchase into a subscription underneath.
The solo runtime avoids this. A single attorney on the $2,500 runtime has no FileMaker license to buy, which is why it is the cleanest LawAlign price to budget.

Search for LawAlign pricing and you get directory templates. Two of them contradict the vendor outright, one by calling LawAlign a subscription and one by printing a monthly rate the vendor has never published.

LawAlign vs PI case management with a published price, over five years
A one time license looks expensive in year one and cheap by year five. Five concurrent users at the $2,500 placeholder is $12,500 on day one. Add FileMaker Server at $1,050 a year and the five year total is $17,750, about $59 per user a month. CasePeer Basic for the same five people is $27,000 over the same period.
That gap narrows with every line LawAlign leaves to the quote. Customization, the annual support agreement, a server replacement in year four and the staff time to run backups all sit on your side. A firm with no one to look after a server should compare against FileMaker Cloud instead, which lifts the platform line to $1,320 a year on Starter.
The other difference is what you get. CasePeer, Neos and SmartAdvocate are cloud platforms with updates included in the subscription. LawAlign says it will never stop supporting your version, which is a promise about the past, not about new features. Does LawAlign offer a free trial?
Yes, on request. LawAlign offers a remote demonstration, an in person meeting or a 30 day trial, arranged by email or phone, after which you receive a serial key. The old trial download page no longer loads, so ask for the trial in writing and confirm which FileMaker version it needs before you install it.
Can I get a refund on LawAlign?
No. The refund policy on the LawAlign FAQ says all software is non-refundable. If the product is defective, LawAlign will replace it with another version or fix the issue at no extra charge. Because the license is paid once and up front, use the 30 day trial on your own cases before you buy.
Is LawAlign cloud based?
It is built for your own server first. LawAlign runs on FileMaker Server in your office, with access from PCs, Macs, iPads and iPhones, and its cost calculator also lists a Cloud for Teams subscription option with no published figure. If nobody at the firm maintains a server, price the cloud option or FileMaker Cloud before you compare.
Does LawAlign have AI features?
Not on its own pages. The LawAlign homepage, services, features and FAQ pages describe case management, calendaring, settlement tracking and document production, and none of them mention AI. Firms that want an assistant to read medical records and draft demands usually add a separate tool next to the case management system.
