PracticePanther Pricing: PracticePanther Cost per User on Solo, Essential, Business and Business Pro

PracticePanther costs $49, $69, $89 or $114 per user per month billed annually, and $59, $79, $99 or $124 billed monthly. It is one of two mainstream US practice management platforms that print the whole ladder. The number most firms should budget from is $89, because Business is the first plan with eSignature, intake forms, texting and the Zapier connection, and the $10 annual discount shrinks as a share of the price the higher you go.

Before you pay per seat for practice management

See the case work a billing platform does not do

PracticePanther runs the business side of a firm: time, invoices, trust and payments. The hours inside each matter, reading the file, drafting the response, building the chronology, recalculating dates when a hearing moves, are a different job. CaseAgent puts an AI agent on that job for one flat price per firm. Pick a matter and a task and watch it work.

Every figure below was read on practicepanther.com on 21 September 2026: the pricing page, its plan comparison grid, the PantherPayments page and the Terms of Service. Where a vendor claim could not be checked, it is labeled as a claim.

How much does PracticePanther cost?

PracticePanther costs $49 to $114 per user per month on annual billing and $59 to $124 on monthly billing, across four plans. The pricing page shows a toggle labeled "Save $120/user/year" on the annual side, which works out to exactly $10 per user per month at every tier. Business Pro is new: it is missing from the Wayback Machine capture of the pricing page on 17 January 2026 and present by 19 April 2026, while Solo, Essential and Business have held their prices since at least January 2025. That is why older reviews still show three plans. There is no user minimum printed and no setup fee on the page, and every plan includes contact and matter management, time and expense tracking, the client portal, unlimited storage and the iPhone, iPad and Android app.

PracticePanther plan prices from practicepanther.com/pricing, read 21 September 2026
Plan Annual, per user per month Monthly, per user per month Annual discount 5 users, one year, annual
Solo $49 $59 16.9% $2,940
Essential $69 $79 12.7% $4,140
Business (marked "Popular") $89 $99 10.1% $5,340
Business Pro (marked "Full suite") $114 $124 8.1% $6,840

The discount column is worth a second look. Because the saving is a flat $10, paying a year upfront buys you almost 17 percent off Solo but only 8 percent off Business Pro. A firm on the top plan gives up the right to leave monthly for a discount that barely covers one month. Compare that with MyCase, which prices its annual discount per tier and saves $240 a user on its middle and top plans; our MyCase pricing breakdown has the full card.

What each PracticePanther plan actually includes

The plan cards list a handful of headline features. The comparison grid below them is where the real cut lines are, and three of them catch firms out.

Solo has no email or calendar sync. Outlook, Gmail, Exchange and Google Calendar sync, Dropbox and Box folders, custom fields, batch billing, automated payment reminders and recurring payment plans all start at Essential. Solo does include document templates, task and event workflows, PantherPayments and the trust ledger with three way reconciliation.

Business is the first plan with the client facing tools. Native eSignature with unlimited sends, two way business texting, text reminders, intake forms, calendar rules, UTBMS and LEDES billing, the attorney revenue report and the Zapier and API connection are all marked Business and above. Calendar rules carries a note: "Subscription required with LawToolBox", so court rules deadlines are a second subscription even on Business. Our LawToolBox pricing comparison has that rate card, $35 per user a month on annual billing at two to nine users.

Business Pro is the accounting plan. The $25 step from Business buys PantherAccounting Plus: operating accounting with a general ledger and chart of accounts, a guided three way reconciliation wizard, and GL, AR and expense management. Support also changes along the ladder: live one on one trainings go from one on Solo to three on Essential to unlimited on Business and Business Pro, and VIP support starts at Business.

Where key PracticePanther features start, from the plan comparison grid, 21 September 2026
Feature First plan that includes it Same feature at MyCase
Mobile app Solo, $49 Pro, $100
Email and calendar sync Essential, $69 Pro, $100
eSignature and intake forms Business, $89 Pro, $100
Court rules calendaring Business, plus a LawToolBox subscription Pro, "Subscription required"
Open API Business, $89 (with Zapier) Advanced, $130
Full operating and trust accounting Business Pro, $114 $39 per user add-on to any plan

If three way trust reconciliation is the reason you are looking at Business Pro, be clear about where the reconciliation will live. Some firms keep it inside the practice system; others run their operating books in QuickBooks and reconcile bank feeds against processor payouts in dedicated account reconciliation software, in which case the $25 per user step buys a ledger nobody opens.

How much does PantherPayments charge?

PantherPayments charges 2.95 percent on every card type and 1 percent on eChecks, with no per-transaction fee and no monthly fee. That is the rate printed on PracticePanther's own PantherPayments page, which also lists $0 for chargeback assistance and says card brand network fees "may apply". It is a simpler schedule than LawPay's, which prints 2.99 percent plus $0.30 for Visa, Mastercard and Discover and 3.90 percent plus $0.30 for American Express, plus a $7.99 monthly pass-through allocation.

The difference matters most for firms that take many small payments. On 100 card payments of $300 a month, PantherPayments at the printed rate is $885, while LawPay's printed Visa rate is $927 before the monthly allocation. On a few large retainers the two are within a few dollars. One fact the checkout screen will not tell you: the terms of service say PantherPayments is "not provided by any entity of that name" but by Headnote, LLC, an affiliate, under Headnote's own terms. Read those before you connect a trust account.

Can I cancel PracticePanther at any time?

You can leave at the end of any term, and you need to say so in writing. Section 16(a) of the PracticePanther Terms of Service lets either party terminate the agreement, "or reduce the number of Users in a subsequent term", by written notice "at least five days prior to the end of the then-current term". Section 18 adds that "All charges are final and non-refundable, including payments made by Monthly and Annual Subscribers". The notice clause is stricter than it sounds. Section 23(f) lists only two ways for a customer to give notice: a letter by "nationally recognized overnight delivery service" or first class mail to Panther Software in Miami, "deemed given upon receipt". Send it two weeks early, by courier, and keep the tracking record. A monthly plan can still be stopped almost any month, while an annual plan is a year paid, with no refund for a user who leaves in March.

Apart from the mail requirement, the exit terms are friendlier than most. Five days of notice compares with the 30 days before the anniversary that Neos requires by email or fax, and Section 16(c) gives you 90 days after termination to request a file of your user and client data in writing, after which it may be deleted on the 91st day. Neos gives 30 days and charges $250; the 8am terms that govern MyCase state no export window at all. The terms page is dated June 22, 2023, and Section 2 lets PracticePanther modify the agreement "effective upon posting", with continued use counting as consent, so reread it before each renewal.

Is PracticePanther cheaper than MyCase or Clio?

PracticePanther is cheaper than MyCase at every tier matched on features, and it cannot be fully compared with Clio because Clio prints only its entry plan. Business at $89 against MyCase Pro at $100 is $660 a year less for five users, and the gap widens once accounting is involved: Business Pro at $114 includes it, while MyCase Pro plus its $39 Accounting add-on is $139. Clio Starter is $49 per user, the same as PracticePanther Solo, and Clio's Core, Signature and Elite plans are quote only.

Five users for one year on annual billing, published rates, September 2026
Configuration, 5 users, annual Per user per month Per year
PracticePanther Business $89 $5,340
MyCase Pro $100 $6,000
PracticePanther Business Pro (accounting included) $114 $6,840
MyCase Pro plus MyCase Accounting $139 $8,340
CaseAgent Firm, up to 5 users (AI case work, not billing) $319 a month for the firm $3,828

Price is not the whole case. MyCase puts conflict check tracking, trust by case and customizable reporting in every plan, and some firms will pay the difference for that. Our MyCase vs PracticePanther comparison weighs the features, and Clio vs PracticePanther covers the quote-only rival.

Which PracticePanther plan should a small firm buy?

Buy Business unless you have a specific reason not to. Solo is priced for a lawyer who bills from a browser and does not need the calendar in Outlook. Essential adds the sync and the billing automation, but a firm that sends engagement letters or takes intake from a website form will outgrow it in the first month. Business is where the platform stops needing a second subscription for signatures and intake, and it is the plan the page itself marks popular.

Move to Business Pro only if the practice system will be your books. If your accountant already runs QuickBooks, the integration that syncs payments, invoices and contacts is included on every plan, and the $1,500 a year that Business Pro costs a five user firm over Business buys a second ledger.

Then look at where the hours go. PracticePanther handles the money side well, and none of its plans reads a case file for you. If the pressure in your firm is on drafting, chronologies and deadlines inside each matter, that is the work CaseAgent's AI legal assistant does, on a flat per firm price that sits next to whichever billing platform you choose. The wider market is mapped in our legal practice management software guide.

PracticePanther pricing, other questions

Does PracticePanther have a free trial?

Yes, 7 days with no credit card required, according to the pricing page. That is three days shorter than the MyCase trial. Use it on Business rather than Solo if you plan to test intake forms, eSignature or texting, because Solo and Essential do not include those features and the trial will not show you what you are buying.

Can I get my data out of PracticePanther?

Yes. Section 16(c) of the terms says that after a termination other than with prejudice, PracticePanther will make a file of your user and client data available if you request it in writing within 90 days, and may delete it on the 91st day. That window is longer than most of the market offers.
