How much does Rocket Matter cost?
Rocket Matter costs $59 to $145 per user per month across four plans, Essentials, Pro, Premier and Elite, and every price on the page carries the words "Paid Annually". Unlike CosmoLex or PracticePanther, Rocket Matter no longer prints a month to month rate for any plan, so if you want to pay monthly you have to ask what it costs. The page's headline promise is that "every plan comes with unlimited support, free data migration", and no setup fee is printed for the four core plans.

The step that matters most is Essentials to Pro. At $36 per user a month it is the biggest jump on the card, and it buys the things a litigation or insurance defense practice usually cannot do without: LEDES e-billing, matter workflows and two-way calendar sync. A solo billing flat fees can live on Essentials. A firm sending invoices to carriers or corporate clients almost certainly needs Pro.
Did Rocket Matter raise its prices?
Yes, twice in three years. The Wayback Machine capture from August 2023 shows three plans at $39, $69 and $89 per user per month paid annually, with month to month rates of $49, $79 and $99. By November 2024 the card read $49, $79, $99 and a new Elite plan at $129. That held through the 22 November 2025 capture. By the 8 April 2026 capture the card showed today's $59, $95, $115 and $145.
In percentage terms the 2026 increase was about 20% on Essentials and Pro, 16% on Premier and 12% on Elite. For five users on Pro that is $960 more a year than the same seats cost in late 2025. It also changed the comparison with the rest of the market: Rocket Matter Essentials used to match the $49 entry price of Clio Starter, CosmoLex Launch and PracticePanther Solo, and is now $10 above all three.
The subscription terms leave room for more. Section 4.1 says Rocket Matter "may modify subscription fees or impose additional fees at any time", and section 3 lets it change the terms "at any time without prior notice". There is no stated notice period or cap on an increase. If you sign an annual plan, ask for the renewal rate in writing.
Rocket Matter costs outside the plan price
CRM. Rocket Matter CRM is sold only with Pro and Premier. CRM Core is $39 per user a month billed annually or $49 monthly. CRM Enterprise is $147 a month billed annually for up to three users plus $49 for each additional user ($177 and $59 billed monthly). The footnote adds a one-time $399 onboarding fee and a three user minimum, and Enterprise lists a $500 data import. For a three person firm on Pro, CRM Core adds $1,404 a year plus the $399 onboarding.
Website. A hosted firm website is $149 a month on any plan with annual billing, plus a one-time $599 setup fee, which comes to $2,387 in the first year. That is a marketing purchase, not a practice management one, and it does not have to come from your billing vendor. A firm that wants a site it controls can have an AI website builder produce the whole thing and keep the $149 a month on the practice side of the budget.
E-signature overage. Essentials has no e-signature. Pro includes 5 per user a month and Premier and Elite 15, and every envelope past the allowance is $2. A five person firm on Pro gets 25 envelopes a month, which runs out quickly if engagement letters, settlement releases and fee agreements all go out for signature.
Card processing. Rocket Matter Pay is included on every plan and takes cards, PayPal, Venmo and ACH, with fees kept out of the trust account. Rocket Matter does not print its processing rate. A competing vendor's comparison page puts it at 3% plus $0.30, which is not a primary source, so get the rate schedule in writing before you compare it with LawPay or PantherPayments.
Rocket Matter vs CosmoLex, Clio and PracticePanther on price
Rocket Matter and CosmoLex have the same owner, ProfitSolv, and are priced to cover different ground. The useful comparison is not entry tier to entry tier but the plan that holds the books, because that is the purchase most small firms are really making.

Read that way, Rocket Matter is the most expensive of the five at both ends of its card. Elite at $145 is $16 more than CosmoLex Pro, $31 more than PracticePanther Business Pro, and $6 more than MyCase Pro with its accounting add-on at $139. What Rocket Matter offers in return is free data migration, a dedicated account manager and unlimited support on every plan, and a billing feature set that goes deep even on Essentials, with evergreen retainers, batch billing and matter-based trust accounts. Can I get a refund if I cancel Rocket Matter?
No. Section 4.3 of the subscription terms is titled "No Refunds" and reads: "We don't issue refunds or pro-rated credits. If you contract with us for an annual subscription and decide a few months later that you'd like to cancel, we don't issue a refund relating to prepaid amounts associated with the remainder of any unused term." Since every price on the card is an annual price, that clause applies to most buyers.
The data clauses are the other half of exit planning. Section 5.3 says you "must plan ahead and remove and/or backup Your Data prior to the termination or expiration of the paid term". Restores requested within 90 days of termination "are occasionally possible" but cost extra and are not guaranteed, and section 2.2 says Rocket Matter may delete your data within 180 days. For a firm that must produce trust records on a bar audit, export the ledgers, reconciliations and invoices before the term ends, not after. The terms are silent on auto-renewal and on a cancellation notice period, so put both in writing when you sign.
Which Rocket Matter plan should a small firm buy?
Buy Elite only if Rocket Matter replaces QuickBooks, because the built-in accounting and QuickBooks Online do not run together: the pricing page footnote says the "QBO integration is not available while using Elite tier built-in business accounting features". If your accountant stays in QuickBooks, Elite's main feature is switched off and Premier or Pro is the right tier. Premier earns its extra $20 over Pro only if you split fees between lawyers or need NetDocuments or Zapier. For most firms of three to ten people billing hourly, Pro at $95 is the plan.

Rocket Matter pricing, other questions
Does Rocket Matter have a free trial?
Yes. Rocket Matter offers a free 10 day trial, and every plan card on its pricing page carries a Try for Free button. The trial is the time to test the parts that differ by plan: e-signature allowances, matter workflows, split billing and, on Elite, the built-in business accounting.
Is Rocket Matter the same company as CosmoLex?
They share an owner but are separate products. Rocket Matter and CosmoLex both belong to ProfitSolv, which also owns Tabs3. Rocket Matter tops out at Elite for $145 per user per month with built-in accounting, while CosmoLex puts its general ledger on the Pro plan at $129 per user per month billed yearly.
Does Rocket Matter integrate with QuickBooks?
Yes, on every plan, through what Rocket Matter calls a Full Control QuickBooks Online integration. There is one catch on Elite: the pricing page footnote says the QBO integration is not available while you use the Elite built-in business accounting. So on Elite you choose Rocket Matter accounting or QuickBooks, not both.
